About: I came across these lilies in the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. I was captivated by their exuberant beauty against the deep shadow. Paul Gauguin mused, “Color—what a deep, mysterious language—and so much older than words.”

The Brooklyn Botanical Garden is among the oldest in the country. The grounds and trees are meticulously cared for and manicured. The images were made with a high-resolution digital camera.
