About: I came across this blossoming cherry in a copse of cherries at the NYBG in early May 2008. It had not yet dropped its petals and as I stood there, I felt a sense of timelessness, as if I could be in a medieval Japanese garden centuries ago. A highly respected botanical institution, NYBG is one of the oldest in the country. The grounds and trees are meticulously cared for and manicured. The images were made with a high-resolution digital camera.
