About: Concrete 31 is one of the images I found at the edge of a popular skateboard pit in Medellin. The Concrete 31 series of images were made of a section of the much larger painting of a huge, mysterious central figure. It was this section of the painting that first attracted me—the pastel-like pinks and blues on the white weathered texture of the sidewalk were intriguing. Pastel pinks and blues are very unusual colors in a street painting. The photograph was made with a 4×5 camera; its working title is Ship of Self.
